Customer Review

This Schwinn bike has held up so well over the years. I bet we have at least 200 miles on this bike, in that we rode one summer 10 miles per day on the Erie Canal. The gearing of this bike is just enough so that the kids are not having to pedal like crazy to keep up, nor is it so low that they cant make it up small hills. The training wheels have wore out and we replaced them but that was after many months of riding all the time. We gave this to my daughter after my son moved up in bike size. Its cool colors for a girl too. She looks great on it and is having a blast this spring riding it on our driveway/street.

Quality (+)
Great quality, only minor oiling of the chain and pumping of the tires and its still going strong. I discouraged my son from skidding to a stop, (which I still like to do) and that has saved the back tire. Even so, I think we have another year left in these tires.

Comfort (+)
Once you have the seat height set the kids never complained about their tush's hurting at all on long rides. Hand brakes can be a bit hard for the kids to use at the bottom end of the age group, however, there are always the pedal brakes so they have many options to stop.

Highly recommended!

Thanks for reading my review.

Great Bike for the Price - S. Dupuis - Corunna, Ontario
Very nice bike. Very durable. Heavier bike. We bought it for our sons 4th birthday. The box was in terrible shape when we received it, which was the result of some scratches tooken out of the paint and a broken reflector. From other reviews that I have read about this product others have had the same problem. My husband had to do some adjustments to different bearings in the wheels because they were way too tight. The bike didn't come with a kickstand, which is fine if the child is still using the training wheels.

nice solid bike - ridiculous manual - questionable packaging - J. Bachor -
at the end of the day this is a nice, sturdy, good-looking bike. i bought two for my twin 4-year-olds birthday.

H O W E V E R, as someone else reviewed, schwinn tries to be too efficient and includes a manual that appears to cover pretty much their entire line of bikes! very annoying. not too difficult to assemble but you do need to find what steps apply to your bike. PLUS the manual sent was printed with pages out of order! where is the quality control? why would you risk tee-ing off a customer to save a few cents on a catch all manual vs. just including a simple 4 (?) step manual on how to put the bike together?

the box containing one of the bikes arrived in somewhat questionable condition. sure enough, the front reflector was broken and the front brake assembly was bent.
customer service, however, was polite and efficient and i received replacement parts quickly.

i've always liked the schwinn brand (my first bike was a schwinn) but it seems like they are cutting too many corners to make a few extra pennies.
